antton Miettinen
Born and raised in Helsinki, Antton’s passion for cycling began early. In 1984, while living in the States, he got his first pump track BMX bike—a rarity in semi-Soviet Finland. His enthusiasm for biking only grew, leading to his first mountain bike a few years later and his debut race in 1991.
Antton continued to pursue his passion for bikes, working as a bike messenger before transitioning into commercial photography. He then focused on skateboarding photography, traveling the globe and capturing the vibrant lifestyle of the sport.
In 2012, Antton moved to San Sebastian, where he settled down and shifted his focus to cycling photography, dedicating himself to road cycling. Since 2015, Antton has been working as a cycling guide, participating in numerous cycling trips. His extensive experience and passion for the sport ensure each journey is memorable and thrilling. All the photos on our website are his work, showcasing his exceptional talent.

Mateusz Calka
Mateusz is a talented bicycle mechanic who has built a career supporting cycling tours. Originally from Wroclaw, Poland, a city just north of the mountains bordering the Czech Republic, Mateusz grew up riding mountain bikes and working in local bike shops. In 2012, he moved to London, where he discovered road cycling and began working with leading brands such as Rapha, The Service Course, and Fairlight, a British steel bike manufacturer.
His skills soon caught the attention of a professional cycling team, leading to numerous opportunities to provide support on various trips for a wide range of custom tours.
While Mateusz often drives a support van during tours, he is also a strong cyclist who enjoys riding road, gravel, and mountain bikes in his spare time. With his extensive knowledge and experience, Mateusz ensures your bike is ready to ride each morning and that all your needs are met throughout the day.
Our Story
Matka Cycling was born from the shared passion of two fellow riders and lifelong friends, Antton Miettinen and Mateusz Calka.
The pair first met in 2017 in Lombardy, Italy, while working for Rapha Travel. During that trip, they shared a room and quickly realized they made a great team. Since then, they have successfully led numerous cycling trips across Europe and hope to continue to facilitate these unique bike touring adventures through Matka.
In addition to their shared passion for cycling and exploring small roads, both Antton and Mateusz love fine dining and cherish time spent in nature. They recognize the significance of holidays for their guests and understand the crucial role of a dedicated team in providing the best possible experience.
Based in Girona, Spain, Matka offers more than your regular bike tours in Europe. Mateusz and Antton work tirelessly to carefully curate each tour to create unique cycling experiences for their guests.
